Women’s Day

As a woman, I’ve often let the people who steered the Titanic guide me, when I should have been led by those who built the ark.

I don’t always need professional support. Sometimes, what I need is someone who has moved beyond the obsession with perfectionism and is living each day with sound faith and judgment. I need to be guided by someone willing to appear foolish for the sake of wisdom, someone who has heard the voice of God and refuses to compromise.

Both types of people are important in our lives. As Dr. Myles Munroe once said, the most important training for pastors should be in Business Management, so they can properly manage the wealth that comes from tithes and offerings. Professionalism, whether in business management or leadership, is crucial for any leader. But beyond all spiritual gifts, we must add a layer of professionalism.

Yet, as women, we also need guidance from those who have moved past professionalism, whose lives are now driven by faith. The one who built the ark did it with precision, but it took faith to begin—faith in the face of mockery and doubt. That’s the kind of person we need to lead us, not someone bound by their title, but someone moved by something higher and more powerful.

As a woman, not everyone with the right credentials should be in the driver’s seat of my life. Not everyone with eloquent words should be speaking into my soul. I need guidance from those who have crossed the threshold of professionalism and now walk with faith as their only guide. Professionalism alone is not enough.

That is the person I seek to lead me.

Happy Women’s Day to all the amazing women out there!
